What The Word Of God Does For You

Supporting Scriptures:

Psalm 119:1-16
John 1: 1-18

What is the word of God?

The Word of God is the creative energy that called the worlds into existence is in the word of God. This word imparts power; it begets life. Every command is a promise; accepted by the will, received into the soul, it brings with it the life of the Infinite One. It transforms the nature and re-creates the soul in the image of God.

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness [a]was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.  4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.  5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. [b]So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Genesis 1:1-5

The bible says

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

The bible describes the work of God has:

Living meaning it has life.
Powerful means it has power to save, transform and deliver.
Shaper than a two-edged sword
Figuratively, double-edged sword refers to something that has both good and bad consequences.
When you’re wielding a double-edged sword, you have to be careful that you don’t cut yourself when you’re trying to swing it at an opponent.
It has the ability to transform both the speaker and the hearer

The word of God is the 2nd person of the trinity.

God honours His Word above His name. His covenant He will never break nor alter what comes out from His mouth. He upholds all things by the Word of His power. The Word is so needed at this time.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

10 Powerful Things The Word Of God Does

The seed that brings forth the new creation in the born-again experience is the Word of God. Our new life comes from the living Word that we hear and receive by faith through the power of the Holy Spirit.

having been born again, not of [a]corruptible seed but [b]incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides [c]forever,

1 Peter 1:23

Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

James 1:18

The Word creates faith, both for the new birth and for living victoriously as Christians. If you ever feel like you lack faith, immerse yourself in the Word, and you will become strengthened as your faith increases.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Romans 10:17

Through a daily and consistent study of the word of God, we grow in our knowledge of God and learn to glorify and honor Him. Otherwise, how can we trust and obey a God we do not know?
Proverbs 2:1-5 tells us that if we accept God’s Words, we will “understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

My son, if you receive my words,And treasure my commands within you,
2 So that you incline your ear to wisdom,And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you cry out for discernment,And lift up your voice for understanding,
4 If you seek her as silver,And search for her as for hidden treasures;
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,And find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:1-5

At every stage of our Christian life, the Word of God is the nourishment we need to grow and mature in Christ. The Word is life, and our spirit is dependent on it – milk for the new believer, meat for the mature, and bread for every believer. If we do not study and meditate on the Word, we will experience spiritual malnutrition, and the life of Christ will not be evident in and through us (1 Peter 2:2Matthew 4:4Hebrews 5:12-14)

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow [a]thereby,

1 Peter 2:2

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God

Matthew 4:4

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the [a]oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are [b]of full age, that is, those who by reason of [c]use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
